dà xiàng guǎn jì shí yǐn xiàng shàng zài zhào shàng 。 jiàn dàn fāng chǔ ，bìng liàng xiàng yǔ dàn 。 xiàng zhě yīn xiàng yǐ yán ，dàn xiàng jiàn chǔ ，qí zhòng suī gù miàn jiē bù kě yǐn xiàng yǐng 。

Cao Chong Weighs the Elephant
In the time of the Han Dynasty, the general Liu Bang sent an elephant to the kingdom of Guo. The king of Guo was so delighted by the elephant’s size that he wanted to know how heavy it was. The officials could not find a way to weigh it. The matter was reported to the king’s minister, Cao Cao.
曹操问他的臣子，谁可以想出一个有效的办法来称大象的重量。
An official suggested using a large boat in the river to weigh the elephant. The elephant was taken to the boat, and when it was in the boat, the boat was marked at the water level. Then the elephant was taken out of the boat, and various objects were placed in the boat until the water level reached the same height as when the elephant was in the boat.
们把大象放在船上，然后在大象周围做上记号，再把大象牵走。然后他们往船上装石头，直到船下沉到之前做记号的地方。
曹冲说：“那么，石头的重量就等于大象的重量。”们按照曹冲所说的方法去做，果然称出了大象的重量。
